ROOOAAARRR! This week’s style-file had a laid-back confidence. Almost reminds us of the king of the jungle. ROAR!!! I decided to wear a summer dress with a not-so-typical look to go with it… Why not have fun???

I purchased the dress about 3 summers ago from Joyce Leslie. The beauty of this dress is, it will always be relevant. It’s a traditional style, with a bold pattern that’s timeless. Animal prints will always be en vogue… No?
The most fun I had was with the accessories…

Though I lusted for these shades LONG before there was a LADY GAGA, I call them my “gaga-glasses”. They are pretty hard to find stateside. I had a friend buy these in Korea. I am trying to find out which ones Gaga wore in “Paparazzi”. I’ll keep y’all posted!

This is a sturdy, funky and fun utility bag from Forever 21. Being that I am a photographer and diva-on-the-go, it’s ideal for my lifestyle. It’s fashionable, and it holds all my equipment! I love the utility pockets– cute and convenient!

I am a HUGE advocate of the bangle.. I can never get enough! Notice the snake-inspired one on the bottom? FIERCE! I’m an animal lover– can you tell? LOL… Most of the bangles were purchased in Soho or more specifically on St. Marks….

Brian Wood’s Gunmetal Batchain has got to be one of my favorite pieces. I have a very personal bat story that I might share with you all one day, but let’s just say I have a special relationship with them. I also think it complimented by bangles, and the dark theme with the studs, black latex bangles, and the serpent bangle as well.

A pair of trusty, cork wedges are a must for ANY summer. I like these because the buckle embellishments adds a nice edge.

So as you can see, we took a traditional dress, and put a dark and edgy spin on it, turning something timeless into something new. Now you can do it too! And remember to always: BE INSPIRED, and BE INSPIRING!
