As we mentioned earlier, yesterday we ventured backstage to see the hustle, bustle and excitement that goes on with the models in hair and make-up. We also took the time out to chat with two of the hottest designers the academy had to offer– I am pictured above with one of them. It was brilliant! The first thing we noticed was the food– of course. HOW do these models stay so slim, again? LOL:
The next thing I noticed were some of the HAUTE looks backstage. Even the hired-help looked great!
That necklace was the most… TO say the least!
VERY cool hair, lady!
This photographer has the coolest mustache ever. I love him!!
The models were ushered in, and started getting their hair and makeup done…
We started admiring the clothes, and then it was off to speak with some of the designers!
First was Bethany Meuleners– who had really amazing shoes! Her line was very feminine, and light with a diverse mixture of textures– inspired heavily by Victorian design. Here is one of her pieces:
She is VERY cool, google her today!
Next up is my favorite– Steven Oo. He is pictured with me at the start of the post. His designs are very dark, goth, and modern. All his pieces are knit– mostly by hand, and take anywhere from 80 to 250 hours to create. I can totally see Rihanna rocking his fits. Check out my favorite piece:
His work is amazing. GOOGLE him sometime, or check him out on his site: www.stevenoo.viewbook.com he’s on the brink of super-stardom!
The models began lining up, and that’s when we knew it was time to take our seats under the tents! We had a blast yesterday, and I can’t wait to do it all again today. Fashion Week has been quite the experience, and I’m more than happy to share our good times with you! Look out for a video of the backstage NYFW experience, coming soon! XOXO
