WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE

....We're glad you could make it. Stay a while... Take in the sights, the lights, and my very, very good insights. This is a journey through my life in NYC, as well as a journey through my mind-- what I find relevant, crucial, crazy, interesting, inspiring, and most importantly, ENTERTAINING. This is an everybody blog. I invite everyone of all races, ages, political views, and music tastes to enjoy my space, and if there is something you want to see more of just let me know. I mean, it's not Burger King, you can't "have it your way". But I promise you'll love me, or your $$ back!

#20inTwentyTen : B Girl Mega (Rock Steady Crew).

Posted by: Cocoa Bella In: News

Coming in strong in her b-girl stance at #12 is my favorite rock-steady chick: B GIRL MEGA. I’ve known and admired her style for years, and it was a pleasure to shoot her. She is one of the premiere members of the LEGENDARY break-team: ROCK STEADY CREW. She has been featured in several ad campaigns and commericals including iPOD and VERIZON. Check out the diva in her own words:

Megan Cooney better know as “B Girl Mega” has risen to elite status in the Hip Hop dance world in a relatively short amount of time. Born and raised in New York City, home to the birth of Hip Hop Culture, she had an affinity towards Hip Hop Music and Dance from a young age. Since she began dancing professionally she has performed with music artists Missy Elliot, Nas, Angie Martinez, Doug E Fresh, Ludacris, Lisa Lisa, Thalia and Fat Joe, as well as being featured in national commercials for Cingular Wireless, Verizon Wireless and in an international in-store commercial for Nike. Mega spends her time not only in the commercial world, but also in the real world of Hip Hop. She is an active member of the world famous Rock Steady Crew, a group created in 1977 noted for bringing Breaking to the public eye. As a member of the Rock Steady Crew she performed at the first annual VH1 Hip Hop Honors show, where the Rock Steady Crew was recognized for their valuable contribution to Hip Hop culture. Mega dances her hardest to best represent her name, her crew, and the powerful and important presence of women in Hip Hop.

It was a pleasure shooting MEGA in her home in the downtown financial district of NYC. She has a beautiful home, and on top of being an incredible dancer, representer of HIP HOP, and role-model, she is also a proud mother of her young son KINGSTON. It was fun hanging with them both, check it out:
