Mere moments ago, the tragic news hit that British designer Mr. Alexander McQueen took his life and was pronounced dead this morning. He was only 40 years old. This news comes just one week after his mother passed away.  How tragic, and absolutely unexpected from this fierce talent, and inspirational fashion hero– to many.

As we enter the tumultuous time of NEW YORK FASHION WEEK, please let us not forget to honor the great talent and contributions Mr. McQueen made to fashion… Sadly, Isabella Blow– the editor who had discovered McQueen and one of his closest friends– took her own life in 2007…. Perhaps McQueen never recovered from that. We may never have the answers, but I do wish the best to him; hoping he’s happier now, and to his family my deepest condolensces.
