Yesterday, I geared up in my HAUTEST Brian Wood fits, and headed out to his much anticipated Spring/Summer 2010 presentation titled, “Our Ransom is Love”. For all you curious B. Wood fans out there, I am rocking his MJ Alumni tank-top, and his Brian Wood gunmetal bat-chain. Take a closer look at the neck-wear:
DOPE!
As usual, Brian did not disappoint with this new line of warm-weather wearables. The look was clean, preppy, nautical– but of course, Brian always provides a dark twist– which I noticed with some of the tee’s in this collection. I imagine a group of well-dressed pirates, capturing the minds and souls of everyone in their reach– with their ransom being love– of course. How quaint. Check out some of the dopeness:
Check out Memsor Kamarake– renowned fashion & style authority who collaborated with Brian on the creative direction of the presentation:
BEHOLD! The man of the hour– Mr. Brian Wood himself. If you notice, he is rocking the B. Devious intarsia polo sweater that was featured in my FASHION WEEK piece on B. Wood & Christina K…. DOPE.
I was fortunate enough to speak with the OTHER Mr. Wood– Brian’s super-cool father– Dan. This guy is cool as a cucumber– plus doesn’t he have really great fashion sense? LOL. I think it’s amazingly cool when parents support their kids’ dreams. It’s those small gestures that really make a difference in our lives. Good job, dad!
I also got to catch up with Dave Milliman– the VP of Brian Wood Designs. He’s responsible for a lot of the dope graphics that are incorporated into Brian’s streetwear collective. Those supa-hawt tee’s and dope varsities? Yeah, he did that. You might recognize him from the B. Wood STREETWEAR Vignette we did in the summer. Dave gets it in! Props.
I was in love with the footwear, it was truly dope. Reminds me of the new LANVIN footwear line that came out earlier in the year:
DOPE.
I was also a fan of some of the new tees they came out with. He had them on a rack where patrons can size them up, touch them and take it in. These were my two favorites:
It’s a WRAP for the Count in that one….
I had a lot of fun seeing friends old and new! I even ran into a few peeps with the MJ Alumni tee. SUPA-HAUTE:
Me and my girl– Alexandra Estevez– she modelled for the B. Wood look-book, check her out here: www.inkedgirlofny.blogspot.com!

All in all, we had a fabulous time as usual. Brian Wood is an awesome and unique talent, who always goes the extra mile to push the limits of creativity and haute-ness. He’s steady on the rise to being a household name– so don’t say Cocoa never gave y’all nothin! Chuuuuch.
