[JUST in case you missed it!] Fall is definitely my favorite season, but after viewing the Spring RTW collection for Milan Fashion Week, I am really looking forward to spring! The designer’s showed out with this Spring collection– and I must say ladies: we have to be on point this season! When I think of plastic and fashion, the first thing that comes to my mind is those clear plastic stripper shoes, lol.
Prada decided to take plastic to a new level when models were covered in Lucite from head to toe. Yes, the models toes were even covered in Lucite, it looked good on the runway but I’m curious to see how this will pan out the real way.
Giorgio Armani didn’t go the normal classic, elegant route we’re use to, he decided to play around and have a little fun with this collection. Skirts were kept above the knee, jackets were designed with bold shoulders, and tops were given deep plunged necklines…
Bottega Veneta, and Alberta Ferretti kept it relaxed, clean, and romantic by using light colors, and airy silhouettes.
Dolce & Gabbana was definitely influenced by the Latin culture with their collection. You could feel the love in the air. The collection was very romantic and sexy. There was a lot of see through lace, masculine tailoring, and short dresses.
I truly fell in love with this collection. I felt like popping in Madonna’s La Isla Bonita while looking at this collection. Fendi gave the “cocktail dress” a sexy update and a modern twist. With this collection you will see lots of pleats, drapes and soft fabric, very sexy without going too far….
Fendi’s shoes for spring are so sickening; I almost hurt myself looking at the pictures, so amazing.
If you’re looking to revamp your career closet to build a work appropriate but chic wardrobe, then you may want to take a look at the Emporio Armani and Jil Sander collections. The Emporio Armani collection has tons of 80’s trends running through it; elastic waist, slouchy tops and shrunken jackets. Jil Sanders designs were kept simple and sophisticated, but with the frayed edges, soft ruffles, and belted jackets you will definitely stand out.
Gucci decided to visit the past…. Gucci went back to the days of classic Gucci: cutout details, high hemlines, and form fitting dresses. The collection definitely has a lil S&M in it too; the high waisted leggings are kick ass.
For Versace all I have to say is: Shiny, Short, and Sexy! Donatella definitely went back to the days of the uber sexy and shiny Versace dress. Donatella said to have been inspired by Alice and Wonderland and the idea of that fantasy land and you can tell by the collections geometric shapes and vivid pastels. Another collection whose shoes are one to drool over, you have to take a look at it to see for yourself….
What trends are YOU looking forward to this spring?
