The accessory aficionado who “runs this town”….
While surfing the net a few months ago [looking for what would be my next haircut], I came across a picture of Rihanna rockin a dope pair of black shades with a chain around them. I thought, “forget the cute haircut, let’s talk about the shades!” I wanted to know more about the shades, and how I could get my hands on a pair!!
At first I thought her stylist designed those for Rihanna, but I later found out the shades were designed by NY based accessories designer, Kerin Rose:
Kerin Rose is the hottest accessories designer out. Her work is eclectic and she steps outside of the box with each design. Her designs are all hand made and feature between 400-600 crystals, and yes she puts on each crystal herself. The chick has super dope skills, have you seen what she did to a pair of Chucks?
Celebrities such as Katy Perry, Mariah Carey, Cassie, to Jazmine Sullivan have been rocking her designs. You may also remember her accessories in a Hellz Bellz look book. Kerin really had the streets buzzing when Rihanna debuted those sickening Barracuda shades in the “Run this Town” video. Kerin is in such high demand she is backed up on orders. Rihanna also has a upcoming spread in Glamour Magazine which will feature Kerin’s pieces. I’m so in love with her collection. its sickening. I have my eyes on those Sioux Lace shades, I think those are the perfect staple for this Fall:
Back in 2007, Kerin use to be a part of a DIYsection on a blog I follow and I never put two and two together that this was the same person…. DUH! I am very proud of her accomplishments and she is definitely someone to keep your eyes on. I don’t want to go too deep because our girl CoCoa Bella wants to save some goodies for when they have an interview! In the meantime you can check out Kerin’s work at www.amorir.com and be sure to follow her on twitter at www.twitter.com/kerinrose. If you have any questions you would like Cocoa to ask Kerin please be sure to post them in the comment section or on her TWITTER PAGE, and stay tuned…
