Bernie Madoff– the despicable super-villain behind the biggest Ponzi scheme ($50 billion) in history has gotten his day in court. The heartless thief was sentenced to 150 years in prison– 3 years for every billion he stole. Though many believe this isn’t enough for what he has done, at least he will live his own personal hell until his last day where he will surely face an eternity of torment for all he has done. It’s not that I don’t believe in forgiveness, but everyone has a limit. How can one consistently lie and steal from thousands of good people, all the while looking yourself in the mirror. For over 20 years, Madoff tricked thousands into believing that them and their children had a safe financial future. IN these hard economic times, what a hard blow. Not to mention that the majority of those affected by this scheme are retiree’s who now have absolutely nothing to their names. Madoff has no remorse. I don’t care what he says. The only thing he’s sorry for is being taken down. God bless you Mr. Madoff, you’ll need it.
