Christophe Decarnin– the designing genius behind the brand Balmain, is definitely a star on the rise. Dior, Prada and Vuitton need to make room! His show is definitely one of the highlights during this season’s fashion week. And the stars have also taken notice. I have seen Beyonce and Rihanna in Balmain jackets. I actually did a post last week on Michael Jackson and his jacket-fierceness as he was photographed rocking a Balmain jacket last week:
Decarnin’s style mixes rocker-chic with a super-modern twist. He also takes influences from 80′s dance fashion, as you can tell by the exaggerated shoulders of his pieces. It’s almost as if you could go from CBGB’s to the Met all in the same night in one of his outfits. Clearly, I will be aspiring to get one of his jackets in the near future… Although I am quite fond of his pyramid-stud skirts as well. Decisions, decisions:
