I think Michelle Obama is a beautiful woman, but not necessarily for her looks. I never really felt brave enough to say that to anyone other than my BFF, but now I do. Michelle is intelligent, stylish, elegant, regal, well-spoken and straight up sexy with an awesome head of hair… But she doesn’t really have the face I would necessarily call “gorgeous”. She’s a pretty lady– no doubt, but that’s where it ends… At least for me.
Well apparently this week, a few people have come out and made comments about Michelle’s looks. Including super-model IMAN. IN her brief interview she praises Michelle, but claims, “She is not a great beauty”. A lot of people are up in arms about these comments, saying Iman is just a “hater”, but I’m not so sure. The article wasn’t a bashing one– and IMAN went on to say a lot of great things about Michelle, so I doubt she “hates” or “is jealous” of her. Iman is one of the most beautiful women in the world, and although she is well over 50, she looks better and younger than women half her age.
Further more, she owns a beauty empire and is married to one of the most influential musicians on the planet. She can wipe her butt wit Benjamins til she croaks, and STILL will have a fortune to leave behind. Did I mention she was gorgeous??? I reeeeeally doubt she even has time to hate anyone. And that’s the thing about hate. It’s often mis-categorized. People think if you don’t have anything but praise for a person– you’re a hater. As if nothing negative exists about anyone whatsoever, and any person who dares say a less than stellar word is not a person with an opinion, but a miserable, jealous and hateful person. Whateva! Not to say haters don’t exist, but don’t mix up an honest opinion– with a hateful one. They are VERY different.
At the end of the day, none of this even matters (what Iman thinks) because Michelle is the HBIC, she’s doing us all proud, she’s making the right moves and doing it all in flawless attire. I cannot and WILL NOT complain. So she’s not Halle Berry– big deal! She’s more than a woman, an icon of style, poise and grace– and THAT my friends is what TRULY matters.
