Rappers nowadays are finally starting to wake up. They are no-longer standing for BS deals, where the fat cats get fatter and they still struggle. The same greediness that caused TLC to sell 10 million records, and end up with less and 50,000 a piece is what many artists are now fighting against. Artists are getting their own distribution and promotion deals, making and selling their own mix-tapes, and signing with independent labels where they earn more of a fair-share of the profits. If you notice, many major labels have either folded, or joined conglomerates, and the fat cats aren’t so fat anymore. Now? Their waging a war against these rappers and other artists. A new documentary called, “Kill the Record Label” has people like 50 Cent, Dj Drama, Chamillionaire, Jim Jones, Juelz Santana and others speaking out about how they beat the system.
