CCW friend, Joi French (of PIRATE ROMANCE) is a cutting-edge accessory designer (who also makes some awesome tee’s and leggings) who has been kind enough to co-sponsor the event! We will be giving a very lucky winner a GRACE JONES inspired piece that is KITTY KAT FIEEERCE! She also has a special piece for the fellas to win! Next, Flud WATCHES– the contemporary watch company has also donated some of their watches to the cause. How amazing!!!! Some lucky winners will walk away stuntin’… And of course, our good friends at KISS COSMETICS who also sponsored last LEADING LADIES last season, has given us some awesome cosmetics that will also be given away in gift bags. CCW Visits MISHKA LA! (@MishkaNYC)

While we were in LA, we decided to pay a visit to the new Mishka store in Echo Park (opened back in February). We are fans of Mishka, and proud of all their success and recent expansion out west. It was fun to take a tour around the store with Johnny– their on-site GM. Check out some images of the store, and some of my favorite pieces:

Thanks for rollin’ out the WELCOME MAT.

STICKERS, baby.

Cocoa Shoots: HOMELESS IN HOLLYWOOD.

Cocoa Shoots: HOMELESS IN HOLLYWOOD.

During my trip to LA, I decided to go down to Hollywood, and photograph something we rarely associate with that area: the homeless. Contrary to popular belief, Hollywood is not all about glitz and glamour. There is a lot of devastation in that area, and I wanted to capture it. We snapped some photos of some of them, heard their stories, and gave them a lil somethin-somethin for their time. It’s amazing how glamorous dreams can turn into a living nightmare. We appreciated that look into their world:

THE DRIFTERS

We stumbled upon these 2 charismatic, young drifters on Hollywood Blvd. They were dingy, and grimey– but something about them was beautiful to me. I just knew if these guys had an intense shower, and some cleaner clothes they would be runway material. I was very intrigued by them– their story was simple….

Daily Freshness: THE KING OF CUKOO.

Daily Freshness: THE KING OF CUKOO.

Stefan Strumbel is the KING of clocks. Particularly cuckoo clocks. His pieces are nothing short of amazing. When I “make it” I will need at least one of his pieces adorning my living room wall. Pop-art, goth culture and religious symbolism are some of the influences of his work– and even Karl Lagerfeld is a fan. Get into it:

STREET STYLE: At The Airport [Joe G.]

STREET STYLE: At The Airport [Joe G.]

Last week, as I was en route to Los Angeles, I was waiting in line next to this young gentleman, Joe G. He interned at Henri Bendel all summer, and would like to be a buyer one day. Well, by the looks of things, he is well on his way. He’s already mastered the art of effortless style! Joe’s look is a classic nautical look with new-wave flair.

He look comfortable and chic. I like his travel bag and sandals…

It’s important to invest in a nice time-piece….

Not every man can rock the sandals. I respect it.

I loved his straw hat. He could fit right in, in Bermuda!

His Carrera shades completed the look.

Cheers to you, Joe we love your look. See you when you come back to New York!

STREET STYLE: From an Ole G’s Prespective.

STREET STYLE: From an Ole G’s Prespective.

While shooting at Rucker Park during the world basketball festival, I stumbled upon this older gentleman named Chris. What struck me about him was his impeccable, yet seemingly effortless style. And although, it was warm out, he looked cool as a cucumber in his pastel suit, hat, and gator shoes. They don’t make em like this anymore. Check out an Ol’ G’s swagger:

BAWSE! May we all be this sharp and together at the tender age of 75. GOD bless it!
