Soaring-in steady at number 14, is my good friend HAJI. Having moved here a few years ago from Japan to pursue his degree– Haji was destined for great things right from the start…. Not only is he one of the awesome graphic-design talents behind SABIT NYC’s genius designs, but he is also a well-accomplished and highly respected dee-jay and college graduate. I’m the brand manager/designer of  Japanese street-wear brand: SABIT NYC. I work with Shoichi ( the Owner) to decide the direction of the company and the direction of the graphic design. Fellas! I nearly collapsed when I saw this look-book— no WORK OF ART on CYANA TRENDLAND… I call it middle-eastern-chic, you can call it what you want, just don’t call it out-dated! CAMO has burst onto the scene in a big way, and I’m loving it.  I like the play-on color with the multi-striped socks. The head-pieces make the looks so intriguing, and the eyeglasses make these models look mysterious. It was a genius way to dress up the modern-preppy look of this brand. COCOA IS A FAN!!! I stumbled upon 2 new images of Rihanna on the set of her single “Rude Boy”. I really like these images. Her leggings are fire, and I’m still trying to figure out who makes them… sorry to all you leggings nay-sayers, but this trend isn’t going ANYWHERE!!!

I must say, I’m a little annoyed that she used a zebra in her video. EVERYONE who knows me knows that the zebra is my mystic, little obsession… I absolutely LOVE THEM!!!! It’s all good tho, Rih. haute recognize haute I suppose. I can’t wait to see the video– the outfits look fre$h!!!

This HAUTE new brand was spotted at the COMPASS shoe tradeshow by the HIGH SNOBETTE team. These funky, chunky shoes are defintiely made for the snaerk-lover who enjoys a more mature look (ie: ME! That is tooootally me!). One of the two designers has worked with some big names in athletic shoe-wear, and i can see the influences throughout the line. Some very tough sh*t ladies, I dig it completely:

@IamKelis is BACK y’all! The single “They Say” was recently leaked on kanye’s blog. I have a feeling this is going to be a very happy album, and I’m looking forward to it!

Rumors have been swirling for some time, but now (according to WOMEN’s WEAR DAILY), Andre Leon Talley’s rep has confirmed his participation in the next 3 seasons of America’s Next Top Model. This might be the boost this show needs…

 
I used to really love this show, but over the years I feel as though it’s become campy, corny, and gimmicky in an attempt to keep our attention and keep things “fresh”. Well, this latest addition is sure to keep things fresh for real, and fashionistas everywhere are eagerly anticipating the drama! Talley is famous for more than his keen eye for fashion (which always seems to be lost on his own personal style)– he’s also known to be a HUGE drama queen. Perfect for the silver screen! Smooth move Tyra, very well played. I can’t wait!

Kanye has been posting several intimate pictures of his stint in Paris during Fashion Week on his BLOG.  I came across some of these pix of him receiving a VERY dope GOYARD backpack. It’s custom-made with a “K” logo in the corner. VERY chic, VERY functional, and guess what? I’m VERY jealous! LOL Isn’t it ironic that the richer you get, the more cool stuff you get for free? Party on, Kanye.

I stumbled upon this fab-photo of my good friend Damon Peruzzi and Kelis. I posted the picture because I simply adore them, but more importantly, the source where I found the photo had mis-captioned the photograph. Damon is Kelis’ long-time best friend, and NOT her staff….

I am loving his electric-blue mink throw, and those silver oxford GUCCI shoes he’s wearing. Damon and Kelis are always pushing the envelope of style, and that’s what  I identify with in both of them. Life is too short to be normal and look like everyone else. Be daring, be you, be fabulous!

As I was browsing twitter– as I do daily, I stumbled upon some images that Swizz Beatz put on his page. One was of his adorable son (above) wearing a dope leather-jacket that he custom painted himself (I don’t think that child is over 5 years old yet), and I was just blown away. He often tweets about the genius things his son does and says, and I am truly amazed and impressed every time. Unfortunately, I don’t see enough African-American males taking the lead role in their children’s lives so I am very proud of Swizz for that. What is even better, is that he has helped cultivate an understanding and appreciation of art in his son as such a young age. I would not be surprised if he ended up being some sort of virtuoso, just look at some of his other work:
